Fuzzy friends

Stella's dentist, also a local friend, heard where we had bought our house and said "oh yeah you'll get some fuzzy friends up there". Boy was he right! In the past week we have seen three moose (mooses, meese?) and a black bear. The black bear was our fault...he came after the diaper trash. Yikes!

Boy did that bear run when Mike walked out into the yard and banged together two plastic pieces from the old fridge.

Meet my new office buddy

I was on a 1.5 hour conference call on Monday afternoon and saw something out of the corner of my eye...someone had popped by to drink some water from and walk through my pond! And I am sure he was also interested in the conference call.

Bird Ridge - 4.29.14

This gem of a hike, 2.5 miles each way, is off of the Seward Highway. I saw some of the most amazing views I have seen in Alaska (see below) so the pain was worth it! By pain I mean physical PAIN. The hike in is up the whole way and so, logically, the whole way down is DOWN. My legs were rubbery at best by the time we got to the bottom. What an amazing way to get outside and get exercise.

I have said it before and I'll say it again, I LOVE ALASKA!
